CE Editor-in-Chief Matthew Edelstein speaks to stylist and style icon
Ian Bradley about nightlife, fashion and his dream dinner party.

Matthew Edelstein: Where are you from? How long have you lived in New York City?
Ian Bradley: I’m from the suburbs of D.C. Potomac Falls, Virginia.

ME: How do you use fashion in your daily life?
IB: To make money.

ME: What does fashion mean to you?
IB: EVERYTHING

ME: What inspires your personal style?
IB: My friends constantly inspire me. I’m very fortunate
to be surrounded by creative, stylish, and intelligent people who are
always giving me new ideas without even trying.

ME: What designers do you love?
IB: Raf Simons, Miuccia Prada, Rag & Bone, Timo Weiland, Petrou Man,
Patrik Ervell, Riccardo Tisci, and Adam Kimmel. Does the Gap count?

ME: What’s your favorite article of clothing?
IB: Currently, it’s a Rag & Bone camouflage vest I got at the Barneys
Warehouse sale. It was the opening look of my favorite Fall 2010 show.

ME: Who are your style icons?
IB: Tom Ford, Kate Moss, Bob Marley, Ralph Lauren, and Dionne from Clueless.

ME: What’s the best gift you’ve ever received?
IB: A super chic parka from my friends at OAK.
I would’ve probably frozen to death this winter if I didn’t have it.

ME: What’s your guilty pleasure?
IB: 1 Girl 5 Gays on Logo. I can’t stop watching it!

ME: What’s on your ipod at the moment?
IB: Beat Happening, Mickey Cupid, & Nicki Minaj.

ME: Defining moment of your life so far?
IB: Moving to Manhattan.

ME: What’s your greatest ambition?
IB: Styling and consulting for a global brand like the Gap.

ME: What’s your biggest vice?
IB: Shitty tattoos.

ME: Who is at your fantasy dinner party?
IB: Diana Ross, Oprah, Gwyneth, Beyoncé, Tory Burch, Michelle Obama, and my mom.

ME: What’s your favorite city?
IB: New York City, obviously.

ME: Place you want to visit the most?
IB: Tokyo, Japan… I’m pretty sure I would be “big in Japan”.

ME: What are your favorite night spots?
IB: Le Bain, le duh.

ME: When are you at your happiest?
IB: When I’m at a really delicious meal, with my closest friends.

ME: What’s your greatest achievement?
IB: I once ate two and a half burritos at Chipotle in one sitting.
